IIMAA Training Conference 2010 has
announced a venue change and a new and improved seminar website. Visit them at www.iimaaconference.com.
IMAA 2010 Annual Hall of Fame Awards is accepting nominations. The I.I.M.A.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame was
formed for the purpose of giving worldwide recognition to the contributions and dedication made to the industry
by martial artists from all disciplines.
Nominations are accepted from instructors, students, families and friends, then reviewed by the Board of Directors
for induction. Inductees have met the high standards of I.I.M.A.A. Favoritism, politics, race, creed and style
do not play a part in the selection of a nominee.
Martial Artists come from all walks of life and I.I.M.A.A members share a common goal, to further the essence of
their chosen art and to promote good relations between styles. |
|
Fellowship between inducted members assists in the further sharing
of knowledge among the leading martial artists in the industry.
Please send in your nominations now! The deadline for nomination is February 15th, 2010, however a limited number
of nominees will be inducted; so the sooner we receive the nomination form the sooner we can lock in the inductee.
This will be a great event recognizing the best in the industry. Please contact me for any questions you may have.
Thank you,
Greg Goepfert, President

Clarification about the “Reunification” Rumors from www.tkd-itf.org
The Board of Directors of the ITF is aware of the rumors
circulating about a “reunification” plan that would merge the group of Mr. Chang Ung with the ITF and that an unsigned,
unattributed announcement was sent to the TKD Times and the Totally TKD magazines who have posted it on their Websites.
The purpose of this document is to set the record straight:
•Following an approach by representatives of the group of Mr. Chang Ung, the ITF Board of Directors did agree that
Master Juan Ferrando, Vice-President and Chair of the Welcome Committee, and Master Willem Jacob Bos, Secretary-General,
could participate in a preliminary meeting in order to discover their intentions.
•Last week, Grand Master Trân Triêu Quân, President of the ITF, did authorize our lawyer in Vienna
to agree that the court proceedings against the group of Mr. Chang Ung would be suspended temporarily (for a period
of three months).
•The ITF Board of Directors has not entered into any “reunification” agreement with the group of Mr. Chang Ung.
In fact, any such agreement would require approval by the ITF Congress, because it would have serious consequences
for the ITF and its members and would necessitate an amendment to the ITF Constitution.

ITF returns to Vietnam
1st ITF Degree Recognition Test
Saturday, 24.10.2009 was a special day in the history of ITF Taekwon-Do in Vietnam. After nearly 20 years break
Taekwon-Do reappeared on the map of martial arts officially practiced in Vietnam.
In 1959 Vietnam was one of very first countries to receive special attention from Gen. Choi Hong Hi. For the first
time Taekwon-Do has been exported outside of Korea. Vietnam appeared to be perfect ground for Taekwon-Do development
and within short time thousands of practitioners trained the new martial art. In 1966 Vietnam along with other
8 countries established International Taekwon-Do Federation.

Tae Kwon Do’s army visits VI South East Opens 2009
Ask anyone that attended the
6th South East open on the 15th March and you’d probably get the same response - seldom have so many Black Belts
been seen at a National Championships, especially one that is classed as a ‘domestic’ by many. The L.T.S.I. surprised
itself this time when over 120 Black Belts and 160 colour belts took part - the event took four hours to get all
Black Belts finished alone!
In the past five years, we have always had open weights but this year saw light, middle and heavy weight categories
being added which clearly made things much more interesting. We saw some great fights during the day - the cream
of Tae Kwon Do from the ITF and independent groups were there to test their skills. Any champions that attended
was given more than a good run, as contenders were there to fight and win the spoils - in some cases, even the
best lost out. Click

.Mr. Morningstar left everyone with a few quotes to help in
their Taekwon-Do journey….”when you know one thing through and through, then you know everything”. “One becomes
a beginner after one thousand days of practice and an expert after ten thousand days of practice”, “Paralysis by
over-analysis”. Master Nunez conducted Sunday's training for 3rd dan and above and covered from Sam-Il to Tong-Il
Tul.
